Why us? Why now?

Right now you may be thinking: "B... what?" You may see us like a new face here, but let me enlight a little bit about this. We're not the new guy on the neighborhood, in fact we've been hanging around since the Mambo age; just like the majority of you guys, like regular users almost in complete anonymity, not on the spotlight as developers. Yes, we've been working (and working hard), designing and developing for the platform for some years now, custom orders the most part; for friends, particular clients, schools, companies and other organizations.

So, why decide to launch this public site right now?, what's the point?, and most important; what's our motivation? Well, as i just said we've been around for years, on that time we've made some roots and feelings for the brave core developers, the outstanding community and for this great project itself. We came with Joomla! back through the days of the fork, we follow the OSM foundation and growth, and with great joy we saw Joomla! proudly stand and shine on it's own. Yes, those were difficult but also glorious days, days of meaning and unity. On the last months, we have seen some dark clouds on the horizon once again, some problems growing inside our community, and as always, some people trying to take advantage on this, they even talk about a second fork on the project.

Open Source is all about freedom, freedom is all about free will, free will is about the right and choice of having an opinion about something; even when this opinion is not the same for everyone (even completely different). Joomla!, once again, face hard days, and that's why we're here; we're here to support, we're here to say: "We believe in you"; We're here to stand side by side with the core team and others brave members of the community working for the good and health of the project.

We believe that with the upcoming release of Joomla! 1.5, the project is reaching a very important level of maturity and usability. We've seen great things of Joomla! on it's short life... and we believe the best is coming.

What to expect?

We will design an develop outstanding templates and add-on's that explode all the potential and horsepower on the 1.5 base code. I'll write tutorials and documentation (English and Spanish) in general for a wide range of topics such as: template design, 1.5 Framework, MVC Development, Mootools and so on.
